This time I painted in a garden store “Pickets” in Historic Golden Colorado. I happened to be working on my wildflower series, and worked on one of the designs for several hours on Saturday. My demo was at the same time as the Golden Arts Festival, which was wonderful as it brought a lot of …

Birds Blooms and Bugs
My spring collection is finally finished; the last piece is the “butterfly and flowers” design. I will be thinking of poetic names for the art, but have already designed the logo. Starting to do some research for a new group of illustrations, I have a lot of ideas…

Pink Flower
This floral juvenile painting is again a combination of acrylics and pastels. I will add a couple more images and the collection will be completed. I love painting summer themes this time of year.
llama Trek
This was the most fun I have had in a while. On Saturday thirteen of us took an overnight trek on the Colorado Trail, and took eleven llamas with us to carry our gear and French wine. The trail head was outside of Salida, where we met up with the outfitter; we started by rounding …
Small Butterfly
This painting is small 4×4 inches, and is part of the spring collection I have been working on. Next I think that I will paint a picture of an iguana, as I need some balance for juvenile boy as well as girl.
Dragonfly
This is the next painting in the spring collection; again this is painted in acrylics with pastel accents. The painting is intended to hang in a girl’s room, or any other place where children congregate.
Digital floral
This is my new digital piece that is designed for products for girls or young ladies. My idea this season is to create images with common spring themes, in a variety of techniques. My next piece will be painted on canvas. Just a new approach, although I will have several coordinating designs in each category.
Purple Butterfly
Just finished this acrylic painting, this is the first of a group of juvenile images for spring; the accents are in pastel. The next ones will be flowers, birds, and natural elements. This piece is intended for a girl’s rooms.
Denver Public Art
Yesterday I attended a meeting for artists at the Denver Office Of cultural Affairs. The topic of the seminar was about future Public Art Projects and how to apply for them. I was very impressed with Mayor John Hickenlooper’s speech, and the city official’s positive attitude towards art in general. I am looking over the …
“Birds in Tree” mural
This week I finally finished the “Birds in Tree” juvenile mural; I had so much fun working on this, that I am going to continue the theme throughout the room; just like working on a collection, it is interesting to expand on an idea. My house is becoming a showcase for my murals, and am …
Lecture at Colorado College
A couple of nights ago Spike lee gave a lecture at Colorado College, which I attended with a friend. It was really inspiring to hear his story about the beginning of his career. The challenges of a film maker appear to be similar to those of an illustrator; the bottom line was that Spike talked …
